given to candidates working on texts and traditions from the first millennium CE where mantras are centrally important to the construction of yoga, especially in relation to the Upaniṣads, the Epics and Purāṇas, Pāśupata asceticism, Śaivism, and/or Tantrism.
Themes of particular relevance to the project include seed syllables (bījas), the yogic body, and mantra meditation. Proposals related to later texts and traditions (e.g., Haṭha Yoga, Yoga Upaniṣads) may be considered on a case-by-case basis.</span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
